Hello,
Although I have used before Lyx on Windows 7, I am trying to install it on a new machine that runs windows 7, 64 with no luck. The installer starts (also when run as administrator) but gets stuck at the message : Please wait while setup is loading, Checking System...
It occupies 25% of my CPU and stays there for ever if I don't kill it. No other errors or messages appear.
Anyone has an idea???
Thanks in advance
V.

This is a known problem. I think you are using the 2.0.5-2 installer? I think you have the same problem as noted here:

My guess is that a fixed installer will be out soon.
You can always install 2.0.4.

Yap, that worked. I should keep an eye on the fix I suppose.

Anybody knows when this problem will be solved by LYX?

I'm sorry you're still having trouble. The Windows installer is going through a lot of changes and there is only one developer who works on it. Try both the newest installers and the older ones to find one that works for you. If the newest installer does not work for you, please describe everything here: http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticketAmirht wrote:Anybody knows when this problem will be solved by LYX?
Consider installing Ubuntu (e.g. in a Virtual box). It's my understanding that installing LyX is much smoother.
