No Update to Output

Post by Gertian »

Hi thanks for reading my post!

I am suffering with Texmaker, once I am trying to compile my document but it doen't work out, he keeps showing me older versions of the document...

I am running on ubuntu, if that makes any difference, and my document has some errors in it. But when I was working on windows that didn't matter it compiled perfectly...

Any idea's ?

Ps: I also posted a topic on my errors, if you'd take a look at that to i'd really appreciate it!

Best regards Gertian

This is a contradiction: either it has errors or it runs perfectly. So which one is it?

Are you by any chance using Acrobat reader? It won't refresh the new PDF.

Well in windows it seemed to compile even with the errors...
In ubuntu it doesn't compile with the errors.

So it is not a contradiction I am afraid, it is the hard truth :/

Yes it is. Just because the compilation ended and you can see a document in the end does not mean it did compile fine! In both cases you should track down the error and fix it. Only a compilation without errors is fine and acceptable.

Thanks a lot man for your answers...

(and I did read the wme, ill try to make one next time I promise... But LaTex already gave me such a big problem with my learning timing that I couln't permit the time to do it this time... I am very happy you helped me anyway...)
