thanks for the advice, I have never installed any packages before, I use MikTex and TexMaker, is there a way to find out what packages I already have at the moment?

By the MiKTeX Package Manager? I assume you know how to start programs from the »Start« menu. Actually MiKTeX should install missing packages on the fly, depending on the settings.

Because you didn't mention that you want to convert Excel spreadsheets? But for such a simple table as you introduced it in your question it is not really necessary.
