LyX ⇒ I cant see the PDF document of my Lyx text

Hi everyone, Im having problems when I try to visualize the PDF document, so when I try to see as a PDF document what I'm writing, I click on the "eyes bottom" but then appears a message window that says the directory of that file cant be found, but the directory that is been searched is wrong, how do I change that? And I try to export the file as PDF latex, but nothing happens.

Hi Dani, welcome!

Can you please provide more information?

Operating system? LyX version?
What is the exact error you get? What messages show up in the terminal? What messages appear when you have View > View messages box open?

Maybe try looking at Tools > Paths for some paths to set?

Also try doing Tools > Reconfigure.

Hi,
my operating system is W7 x64 and my Lyx version is 2.0.4. I already tried with Tools>Paths, and there's no option for that kind of path. I also tried Tools>Reconfigure and didn´t help.
Here´s an image of the error Im having every time I click in the "eyes bottom".
It says: Lyx: can see the file:
The file doesn't exist:
C:/Users/sony/AppData/Local/Temp/..../file.pdf

The Error its right because in that path there's no such file. I just can't change this path. What can I do?

Dani,

Thanks for the extra information and screenshot. That really helps. The way LyX works is that it copies your file to a temporary directory and does all of the processing there (e.g. it runs pdflatex over there). Something is going wrong with that process.

I'm not very familiar with LyX on Windows. Here are a couple of ideas:

1. Do View > View Messages which should give us some more information (do that before you try to view).

2. You could try using a different installer of LyX for Windows. Uwe Stöhr has been working hard to improve it but for now his installer is separate from the main one. From what I've followed, it is considered stable and has been well tested so I think it would be worth a shot if you're willing to take the time to do it.

Sorry you're having trouble with this. Hopefully we can figure it out.

I already fixed. I uninstalled everything and re-install it and it worked. Thanks for the help anyways....
