Looking for an awesome developer

Post by kevtk1984 »

Hey Everyone!
I recently started developing with Latex as soon as I discovered how well it handled equations. Its amazing! This got me thinking that I would like to build something quite a bit more ambitious, and I know for a fact I will not have time to learn the skills to build what I need, in the time I need it.

I'm looking to find a highly experienced LaTeX developer, someone I can work with for the next several months to build a prototype. Location is not too great of an issue for me, as long as your broadband is solid enough for skyping.

If anyone has any leads, or other places to look, I would really appreciate it. Of course, all work will be well compensated.

Hope this finds the right person!

It would probably be useful to say what you are after: a custom piece of code, a custom class, something else?

That's a great point.

I believe I would be looking for a custom class? The ultimate purpose would be to render a standardized test booklet based on test questions we have in our database. If you recall when you had to take the SAT, or another large test in school, test booklets are generally formatted with one/two column variable pages, with ABCD answer choices.

Also, some tests present a text "passage" that one must read in order to answer the next set of questions. For those passages, certain line numbers must be numbered. Not all lines, however.

I've found a lot of resources that help facilitate multi-column layouts, and line numberings, but what I'm looking for is an experienced developer who is available to help ensure our app is producing the right latex to render a page how we would like it. And beyond merely spitting text on a page, it has to look a very specific way, must be able to render SVG or EPS graphics.

This person would also need to know how to render various fonts, such as Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana, instead of the standard roman font that typically renders.

I'm attaching a sample test booklet so you may see what I will ultimately need to render.

Hope this is a bit more clear! Thanks for the reply!
