A strange math symbol
that is quite difficult to find: I assume that it is an enlarged, non-capital, '\mathcal'-letter 'a'. But that does not exists. Of course, you could change it simply to a symbol
$\mathcal{A}$
.Do you know the detexify recognition-site: detexify?
Or otherwise: list of symbols
The last option I would say, is combining it, due to something like:
$\mathcal{C}$\!\!\emph{\i}
, but that is really ugly.Greetings,
Boersma
A strange math symbol
The website is extremely helpful, although I did not find this strange thing. I also tried the comprehensive table and did not find it.
I also asked in other forums and someone said this might be an obsolete package of
$\mathscr{A}$
. This might be true because there are a lot of mathscr letters in the book such as B,C,D,E,F,G, but no $\mathscr{A}$
.

RegardsA crossposting is always contra-productive. But there is nothing really against it as long as it is mentioned. This means that a direct link has to be added. So other users who want to help are preserved from double efforts and waste of time.
