PDF Output cannot be opened when opened with Acrobat

Post by financialwar »

My PDF viewer is set to Adobe Acrobat. It works without any issue if there is no acrobat X already open. However, whenever I am try to "View PDF" in TeXmaker when there is another Acrobat already opened, I get this error.
There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found.
Any help would be high appreciated.

You have to close Acrobat first because it locks the opened file. It should also be impossible to compile while the output is viewed in Acrobat (see log file).

The file locking is a reason why I would not use the Acrobat Reader during writing, besides that it doesn't support SyncTeX. However, I would use it for a final check, that the output is displayed well with this reader too, because it's so widely used.

I see, guess I'll just stick to texmaker's own pdf viewer.
