General ⇒ Rebuilding Output in TeXnicCenter showing no changes to PDF

This might be an ignorant question and I am just not following the right procedure.

I am able to successfully generate a PDF the first time I Build Output (Build -> Build Output, Build -> Bibtex, Build -> Build Output, Build -> Build Output), but when I then make some changes to my .tex files and build again, none of the changes show up in the pdf, it stays exactly the same as the first build. I also did a Build->Clean Project as a friend suggested, though now it builds nothing as it can not find the .aux file.

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
