Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Texmaker across operating systems
Texmaker across operating systems
I'm running both Ubuntu and OS X on one computer. I've been using Texmaker on Ubuntu for a while now, but I want to start using it on my OS X partition as well. I have installed Texmaker on OS X, but I get the classic "could not start command" error because I haven't yet installed TeX Live or whatever on my OS X partition. Obviously, I have those files successfully installed on my Ubuntu partition (in \usr\share\tex-common, \usr\share\texlive-base, etc.).
In the interest of disk economy, I'm wondering if there's a way to refer my OS X version of Texmaker to those files already on the Ubuntu partition. The read/write/sharing/whatever between the two partitions are already running smoothly, so that shouldn't be a problem. So, can it be done? If so, how do I point Texmaker in the right direction?
Thanks!
