Page Layout ⇒ Font size in headings pagestyle

I just would like to get a different font-size to my headers in my document.
I used headings pagestyle wich works in my case.
Suggestions?

For an adequate problem description and in order to avoid guesses and random shots please prepare a proper minimal example that contains all necessary but only relevant information in form of code.

Customization of standard page styles is a bit more complicated. There are packages to create new ones.

• fancyhdr
• »scrpage2« (from KOMA-Script)
• titleps

Just for information to other users for awareness of possibly already existing solutions. The question has also been posted to {TeX} SX (with answers).
