LyX ⇒ Create custom in-text Citation

I created my own LaTeX class, following my school standard for thesis.

My problem is, in this class there is two types of citations and the author must choose one of them. In LyX, there is no option to choose the type, unless you use natbib (or another complement), but I don't want use them.

I know that you can customize LyX user interface, but I didn't find any documentation or example for that. Can anyone help me?
