Hi,

I want to add numbered definitions in my document. Any help?

Elaborate a bit instead of just writing a one-liner. Such definitions are usually typeset in environments like {theorem}, perhaps customized by specialized packages.

I proceeded like this:

\newtheorem{definition}{D\'{e}finition}
......
\begin{definition}
 here I type my definition
\end{definition}

and all is well
