Lyx & PostgreSQL
I'm new to this list but not to lyx. I'm quite fond of it and have been using it since the 1.3 versions or before. Lately, I have been using jabref as my bibliography manager to bibtex and lyx. It has a database interface to MySQL and PostgreSQL (I use PostgreSQL) that I like quite a bit as it allows for easy access to references by a group working on the same project or needing the same set of references, working over a vpn when away from the office/home, etc. Since lyx has a python interface, I am assuming that with the proper database drivers (Pysycopg,PyPgSQL, etc.) one can create an import/export/tracking plugin for lyx to handle whatever SQL database one wants to. Lyx uses rsync right now for tracking so maybe this is moot. Just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to work on such a thing?
Cheers,
Fred
