Correct formatting for the MMF symbol

Post by kabhijit »

What is the correct symbol for magnetomotive force (MMF)? I've seen $\mathcal{F}$ in some places, but is that the correct one?

Correct formatting for the MMF symbol

Post by Stefan Kottwitz »

Hi Abhijit,

welcome to the board!

As I can see on Wikipedia:Magnetomotive force, \mathcal{F} seems to be acceptable as it's used there.

If there's not a specific symbol required by your university or institute, you could use that one I think.

Yes I had seen it on Wikipedia too. Guess i'm sticking with $\mathcal{F}$ for now.
