text written in 12pt times new roman and 1.5 spacing looks different as written in ms word with same fonts.

How did you choose the line spacing? I would use the setspace package for this. Do you think Word does the correct spacing, compared to the professional typersetting software TeX? How would you define 1.5 spacing? Zoom your LaTeX output to see if it's correct. Since Words sometimes shows bad typography, I would not compare with Word but would check if it's correct, independently of Word or LibreOffice or Abiword or any other WYSYWYG software.

TeX has an exact definition of pt. 1 pt is 0.351459804 mm or 1/72.27 in. What does a pt mean in Word or for you?
