Swiching user causes problems with pdf

Post by thimbles »

I am using TEXnicCenter with Windows 7. With the computer username 'gordon' there are no problems with creating Latex documents and producing a pdf output file using Latex -> PDF build profile. When I switch to username 'gje' (the computer administrator) however, there is a problem. Although the input text file still builds to create a pdf file with no error messages, no edits made to the text file are incorporated. To see the output file corresponding to the edited text file I have to switch username, which is very inconvenient. I have checked that the output profiles are identical for both usernames and I don't know what else might cause this anomalous behaviour. Any one any idea?

Sounds like a permissions problem. Do both users have permission to read and write to the directory and files in question?
