Insert Citation, define a citation style

Post by tpphilipp »

Hello,

is there a way to pre-define a standard citation style when inserting a citation in LyX?

When I click the "Insert citation"-symbol the "LyX: Citation"-window pops up. Than i select one of the available citations and add it to "Selected Citations". In the lower part of the window i can select a citation style under "Formatting". There are 8 possibilites plus the option "Add to bibliography only". As I always need option no. 4 I have to scroll down every single time when I insert a citation which is quite annoying if you have hundreds of citations. Would be great if there is a solution for this.

I would also like to know whether it is possible to define one's own citations styles. Not only whether it is possible to reorder or filter the styles in the list, but whether it is possible to (a) populate the list with specific predefined styles or even (b) create new styles.
