Layers for Text, Images and Backgrounds

Post by kornaros »

I apologize in advance for frequently posting questions, but I am very new to TeX and its offspring.

My question is: I like to create layers for text, images and background elements as in InDesign or Photoshop. Is it possible?

Thanks,
Charis

Layers for Text, Images and Backgrounds

Hi Charis,

you could consider the page and boxes such as minipage environments and \parbox boxes as layers. Boxes can be placed somewhere and are allowed to overlap. If you mean transparency - well, LaTeX is not a graphics program.

However, pgf and it's front-end TikZ provide layers and transparancy and can be used in LaTeX.
