Hi everyone;
I'm using LaTeX to write my dissertation, and while it's been a learning process, it's been largely enjoyable. My only issue so far that in the final rendering some of the in-line citations are including the author's first initial - ie. (J. Brown 2008). I'm using natbib and the \pcite{} command to generate the reference. I understand why this is occurring (because I have another author cited in the work with the same last name), but I don't want it to and I don't know how to fix it.
I like to think it's a relatively easy fix that has just been eluding me, so if anyone has any insight or suggestions I'd appreciate it. Incidentally, this default behavior seems wrong to me, but it may be more appropriate for other fields (I'm an ecologist). Is this standard practice in other fields?
Thanks!
