TeXnicCenter: DocOpen("%bm.pdf")Cannot execute the command
I always return to these forums whenever I start using LaTeX again, find out that it doesn't work and just have no idea what to do to get it to work!
I am using TexnicCenter 2.0 Alpha 3, and Adobe Reader 10.1.1. When using the LaTeX->DVI output it opens up fine in Yap. But I can't get files to open in PDFs in Adobe Reader at all. I have the same settings in my Profiles folder, which is set to working with MikTex 2.9 for LaTeX, BibTeX and MakeIndex. When I go to build and view output, it opens Adobe Reader but does not open any file. TexnicCenter then crashes for a bit and eventually says DocOpen("%bm.pdf")Cannot execute the command. As usual I suspect the solution is really obvious! Any help would be appreciated, especially as I probably haven't given enough information to diagnose the problem, but then I don't really know what information to give!

Re:
Hi,
imagine all topic titles in the forum would be like this one. How should readers browse through the topics, checking what they possibly could answer? Please edit and choose a meaningful topic title.
Perhaps post your .log file here, as attachment, there could be information about the cause of the problem.

Re: Cannot output into pdf.
Sorry! That probably was quite unhelpful. Where would I find my logfiles? I did a search for them but can't find them on my computer, although I note that whenever I build my file it says "Transcript written on mydocument.log" so I think that it must exist somewhere.

Re: Cannot output into pdf.
Yes, the file should be mydocument.log. It should be in the same folder as your main .tex document.

Re: Cannot output into pdf.
Thanks. I think this might be the log then. It probably looks like I am doing hundreds of things wrong! I'm sure there is probably one small thing that is preventing it from outputting PDFs though.

Obviously a PDF file is produced. So it could be a problem of the Adobe Reader. You use version 10, there's a known problem, have a look at
Adobe Reader 10 and viewing error
I guess there's a solution or workaround, at least at the Adobe site, there's a link in a post.

Re: Cannot output into pdf.
Thanks. I tried all of the solutions but could get nothing to work, so I have gone back to Adobe Reader 9.4 and it seems to be working again! Will modify post to include the tick of solution.
