Messed up document using XeLaTeX after update

Post by ghostanime2001 »

When I compile my latex document using XeLaTeX the produced PDF has dots and x inside circle characters. I re-installed the packages (not re-downloading) and still had the same problem. Instead, I had to uninstall everything and install the basic version because installing the complete version takes forever. Also, there was an update to miktex 2.9 so I updated it. Could this be the problem ?

Perhaps post a sample PDF here, as attachment, together with the code example. So we could have a look at both.

It happens when I change the settings for the page size from A4 to letter or (lettersize) in settings. All of my documents get messed up like this after changing page size. I don't understand, this never happened before.
