BibTeX | citations in footnotes and citing multiple times

Post by jimitex »

hi!

my advisor wants me to cite literature in the following manner:

- cited works should be listed as foot notes on the same page as the citation
- if the same work is cited multiple times the full info should only appear the first time (publication, year, full title, etc.) after that only the author and page are required

any idea's on how to realize this with bibtex?

Try footbib: it's done for that (well, for multiple citations, I'm not too sure it can manage it alone, but I remember having done a footnote bibliography for someone quite a few years ago, and it was full of 'Ibid., p. 108'). Anyway, have a look at the documentation.
