Installing a new template

Hi all,

I have got a template for my thesis from my university and I want to use it. The problem is I dont know how to make it available in drop down for document class in lyx.

Kindly help me.

To use a special or new LaTeX document class in LyX you have to install it and write a layout file for it following the instructions from the LyX wiki.

If your template is not a document class but based on a regular class, such as book, Memoir or KOMA and has a .tex file ending, then simply import it in LyX via the import menu.
