Combination of 'alpha' and 'abbrv' Bibliography Style

Post by vsb1357 »

Hi everybody,

I'm writing my PhD thesis and to make it more readable for myself and referees, I want to use 'alpha' bibliography style. On the other hand, because a lot of bib items in my .bib file are generated automatically (using Google Scholar), the first and middle names of the authors are abbreviated in those items which makes it inconsistent with the other ones I have written manually and include full first names. Therefore, I need something similar to 'abbrv' bibliography style to make them all look the same.

So far, I haven't been able to find a package that generates citations similar to 'alpha' style in the main text and similar to 'abbrv' style in bibliography. Any help is much appreciated.
