General ⇒ "The File has been modified outside TeXnicCenter"

Hello,

For my case, TeXnicCenter allows a single file to be loaded more than once. So, when the second file is edited, I get a message.

The file has been modified outside TeXnicCenter

My question is how can I prevent it from happening by making TeXnicCenter to lock the file when it is open.

Because, while working with multiple files, it is common to click the icon again to see the file and mistakenly opening same file twice would always result in the same problem.

This "problem" would not arise if you create a project and just add all necessary files to it. Every time you open the project all included files will be opened only once.

Thank you! I have just tried it. No luck. It opens multiple instances of same file.

I guess, it should be controlled by file locking...is there anyway to tell the texnicCenter to lock(which is natural in my opinion) a file while editing in one window?

I don't understand... Why do you open the file more than once?
