Getting BiBTeX to work using GNU/Emacs on Windows

Post by pjmiller_57 »

Hello Everyone,

I am very new to LaTeX and GNU/Emacs. I want to be able to create a reference section using a .bib file.

Below is a simplified version of my .tex file and the contents of my .bib file. When I run this code in Emacs (under AUCTeX?), I don't get any references. As far as I can tell, this happens because I need to perform a number of runs of my .tex file, my .bib file, or both. Maybe the problem is something else though.

I already have one book (The LaTeX Companion) and am about to order a couple more in the hope of improving my understanding.

In the meantime, could someone please help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,
Paul

Getting BiBTeX to work using GNU/Emacs on Windows

Post by localghost »

There is no citation by the \cite command at all in your sample document. So it doesn't surprise that you don't get a bibliography.

Furthermore the @article entry with the citation key »moore2007erlotinib« appears twice. Check the BibTeX log (*.blg) for the corresponding error message. Remove the second entry and it will work.

Best regards and welcome to the board
