page break and eqnarray
I am writing a set of equations using "eqnarray". The set of equations is so large that it is leaving half of the page blank and moving the entire set on new page. This looks weird. Is there a way to have system understand the remaining space on a page and print a portion of equations on it and rest on the next page? Or do I have to do it myself?
This issue is also leading to a problem with footnote. Footnote is getting printed on the middle of the page, and bottom portion of the page is remaining empty.
See the picture attached. Any suggestions please.
Thank you,
Omkar

page break and eqnarray
don't use the eqnarray environment. It's old and not recommended, for instance the spacing around relation symbols is different to that of single equations. Use the align environment of amsmath instead. See amsmath user's guide.
You can break amsmath environments, there are commands for that: \allowdisplaybreaks and \displaybreak, see the user's guide 3.9 Vertical spacing and page breaks in multiline displays.
Concerning the footnote issue the easiest way should be
Code: Select all
\usepackage[bottom]{footmisc}

Perhaps somewhere in your code there is a \raggedbottom command. Deleting that should get things work.omkardpd wrote:[...] This issue is also leading to a problem with footnote. Footnote is getting printed on the middle of the page, and bottom portion of the page is remaining empty. [...]
