Graphics, Figures & Tables ⇒ Springer Journal Template: Figures displayed at last Page

Hi folks,
I'm using Springer Journal template "svjour3" in a 2 columns environment. I'm using \begin{*figure}...\end{figure*} to display figures on the two colums. However, the figures are displayed at the last page of the document (even after the references).

Any idea how to fix this issue ?
