After searching for a solution on Google I found this topic that addresses the problem of duplicates in a generated nomenclature. Unfortunately the topic is marked as being solved, but it does not give a solution to this problem.
So my problem remains:
Is there a way to automatically remove duplicates from the generated Nomenclature?
E.g. adding multiple times in your TeX file should generate only one entry in the Nomenclature.
