I've just signed up as I have a question (which I'll post in the appropriate forum). I've got virtually no experience with LaTeX, but I've started a PhD, so it's a good idea to learn it now, rather than later in my research.

Greetings and welcome. I was in the same shape (minus starting my PhD) when I joined just a little bit ago, but this forum is very helpful and I'm now able to do my day-to-day work pretty much unaided. I'm sure you'll learn a lot about LaTeX here, too. Cheers.
