Math & Science ⇒ Handle a Math Operator not as such

Hello!

I use \succ in the document and LaTeX treats it like a math operator and this makes problems with line breaking. Is there a way so that latex will not "see" \succ as a math operator? Thank you very much!

you could enclose it in braces: {\succ}.
