Fonts & Character Sets ⇒ MacTex 2011 can't access my texmf-local fonts

Hi,

a few days ago I installed MacTex 2011 allongside with my old MacTex 2010 installation. Luckily I kept the old one. The 2011 version does not access my additional fonts in texmf-local. I already did texhash, updmap-sys, updmap-sys --enable etc. Nothing has changed. The corresponding MAPs are correctly added to the updmap.cfg file in the texfm-config folder. I have run out of ideas. As an example I have run the DOC-file to Fraktur "TypOasis Bibelschrift" by Michael Gährken. MacTex 2010 had no problems what so ever but MacTex 2011 just doesn't work.

I have also checked and repaired permissions. They are identical for both MacTex distributions.
Does anybody have an idea what`s wrong here or what I can do differenty?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I also did it without -sys. Unfortunatly it makes no difference.
And I haven't changed anything in the .tex source code because it is working with MacTex 2010 and so it should with 2011.

OK. So my fault with crossposting. Honestly I didn't expect the majority of users to visit other, in this case German speaking forums as well. To clarify, yes I did post in 2 more German speaking forums as well, to make sure I would get an answer. Actually these were all the LaTeX-forums I found. So if somebody finds this topic in another forum, chances are high it's from me. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Well, I solved it. Thanks to everybody who tried to find a solution. Here is what I did.

1. Completely uninstall MacTex 2001
2. Repair permissions.
3. Fresh Install.
4. Repair permissions, then
   1. call

      Code: Select all

      updmap-sys --enable Map=foo.map

      for each map file. (Or MixedMap instead of Map, if your font has both Metafont and outline definitions.) See the updmap --help documentation.
   2. add your local map entries to the file

      Code: Select all

      TEXMFLOCAL/web2c/updmap-local.cfg

      and then call

      Code: Select all

      tlmgr generate updmap

      which will concatenate updmap-local.cfg to the end of the final updmap.cfg.
5. one more updmap-sys, et voilà.

It's working now. Something got screwed up during my first install.
