Hello, newbie in need of help

Hello everybody,

I'm new to LaTeX and i need some help,
when I make a project what should i save it as i usually do tex
but i can't open it when i save it as tex how do i save it as dvi,
i have downloaded miktex and the editor is LED

You use an editor, in your case LEd, to edit the .tex file. With that same editor you can compile the .tex file to for instance .dvi or .pdf.

Hi Jafar,

welcome to the board!
MiKTeX also installs the editor TeXworks. Perhaps it's easier for you to use this editor for the first steps: type the code, click the "Typeset" button.

Thanks everybody, I solved my problem the problem wasi was writing the codes with a / instead of \ so i got many errors when compiling thx anyway.

I'm new to latex so i kind of speed learned it so that i can surprise my college math teacher because we got an exercise for summer some statistic thing and i wanted to use a nice program and i found this, and your community rocks.
