How to set - automatically download packages

Post by LadyBlurp »

Hi Everyone!

Not new to Latex, been using it for years and after writing my dissertation I think I know quite a bit about what's going on. Joined the forum since I realised you can always know more and learn new tricks :)

Anyway, I just set up Texmaker on my pc. Previously had it installed in Windows 7 and now in Ubuntu... previously it would automatically offer to download any packages I did not have. Now it just crashes...

Does anyone know how to set this? Looked through the config and user manual and didn't find anything...

Thanks

Hi,

Have you found the solution ?

I also notice this difference between Latex on Windows and on Fedora.
I've tried but still don't know how...

My solution is to use texLive, as texlive includes so many packages, probably all you can find on the net.

Hi,

Yes, ended up just searching for the package in apt and downloading it via apt-get. I think the packages were texlive... Mostly anyway!
Not much more effort :)
