I am writing a paper for APL and I want to write in LaTeX with the correct formatting and details so I get an idea about how the paper looks before we submit. The problem is that all the stuff I have found on the web has no documentation about how to use it. I was wondering if anyone out there has written their own class or style file that I could use for my document preparation.

Please note. I am aware of RevTex, and it is not what I am looking for.

I find it infinitely frustrating that APL does not provide this for the authors. Seeing that a large majority of users use LaTeX.

I'm having exactly the same problem as you. I emailed APL and they said they have no template, which is a bit rubbish. Have you had any success in getting one?

The AIP accepts text files prepared with the classes and packages provided by the revtex bundle [1]. So this should be suitable to work with.

You cannot use RevTex to generate a document that looks like what an APL document looks like. So this is not helpful, but really appreciate the response.
