Placing rhs parenthesis on set of equations?

Post by Mark65 »

I would like to have on the RHS a } parenthesis with numbering of the following equations (load amsmath package):

Code: Select all

\begin{align} \label{diffeq2}
\begin{split}
\frac{\partial A_{1}(z)}{\partial z}= i c A_{D}(z) \, , \vspace{2mm} \\
\frac{\partial A_{D}(z)}{\partial z}= i c A_{1}(z) + i c A_{2}(z) \, , \vspace{2mm} \\
\frac{\partial A_{2}(z)}{\partial z}= i c A_{D}(z) \, .
\end{split}
\end{align}
I tried with \rbrace but could get any decent result. Can anyone help?

Placing rhs parenthesis on set of equations?

Hi Mark,

welcome to the board!

You could use the aligned environment:

Code: Select all

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\begin{document}
\begin{equation}\label{diffeq2}
  \left.
  \begin{aligned}
    \frac{\partial A_{1}(z)}{\partial z}&= i c A_{D}(z) \, , \vspace{2mm} \\
    \frac{\partial A_{D}(z)}{\partial z}&= i c A_{1}(z) + i c A_{2}(z) \, , \vspace{2mm} \\
    \frac{\partial A_{2}(z)}{\partial z}&= i c A_{D}(z) \, .
  \end{aligned}
  \right\rbrace
\end{equation}
\end{document}
