TeXnicCenter doesn't generate a dvi or ps or pdf

Post by hollyusetex »

Hi,

I am writing my thesis using TeXnicCenter and am having some trouble.
The code compiles fine but there is no dvi or ps or pdf file generated. I couldn't open anything to view the document. I have searched this issue online but didn't have much luck.

Could you please help with that?

Much appreciated.

Holly

Hi Holly,

welcome to the board!

Please tell us error messages and warnings, so we could be able to help. You could also post the produced .log file as attachment to a post here.

Thank you so much for your response Stefan_K. I have been struggling with it for quite a while and am really frustrated. Tears...

I am attaching here the log file.

There is no error message.

Thank you so much again.

Hi Holly,

the log file doesn't show an explanation yet.
MiKTeX also installs the editor TeXworks. You probably can find it in the start menu. Try opening your thesis with TeXworks and generate the PDF with it.

I bet on the well known issue of MiKTeX with TeXnicCenter 1 RC1 [1]. I suggest to try Stefan's approach as proof of that. If you want to stay with TeXnicCenter (TXC), try TXC2a3.
