I download the 2.9 version and now it works fine. Any idea how I can update the WinEdt version?

MiKTeX 2.9 installs also TeXworks, you could try that. I like that fast editor very much. Regarding WinEdt, you could look at its homepage for an update.

I prefer TeXworks for quick writing, and TeXnicCenter for complex documents and sophisticated features - on Windows. On Linux I use Kile.
