Hi All, New User and Community Member
I started a degree in Mathematics in Jan this year, and LaTeX is the program other students are recomending to use for documents.
I've started reading through Leslie Lamports book on the program, so hopefully I won't be to much of a lurker, or at least not for too long. Then all going well I hope to help others out in the future.
Take care.

welcome to the board!
I like Lamport's book too, it's good to read the thoughts of the original author. Besides that, there are further good books. I like the "LaTeX Companion" very much, it contains so much information that it's useful for years.

I'll make "The LaTeX Companion" my next book.
I'm making good progress through Lamports book, I haven't actually created a document on LaTeX yet, I'll have the book finished soon enough and then I'll probably start "typing up" pieces of my studies (half an hour a night maybe), then hopefully as I get more familiar and experienced, slowly make a change to more LaTeX and less pen and paper.
Very excited,
great forum too,
Shayne.
