Hi.
i'd like to know if there is a way to install proteXt under win xp without having to install adobe acrobat reader.
i have Foxit reader and i kinda want to keep my system light-weight...
or are there some special functions in the installation-pdf that only work with acrobat reader?
thanks....

installation problem...
Hi w1re,
welcome to the LaTeX Community board!
I'v read that the Adobe Reader is necessary for installation. But I expect that the proTeXt installation would be possible with another pdf reader that supports the start of external programs. You may try it with the Foxit Reader. Just open the protext pdf file and try such an installation link of this pdf.
proTeXt is based on MiKTeX, so why not install MiKTeX directly if you want to keep your system light-weight. You could choose Basic MiKTeX conserving harddisk space and choose to install missing components later from the MiKTeX server.
