Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Forward search with Texmaker

I am new to texmaker. I am compiling a "root file" for a book with many chapters used with the \input command. I have included -synctex=1 in my latex command line and also have set my "root file" as the "master document". The file compiles OK and inverse search (from the builit in pdf viewr to the latex source file) works fine. But I have problem with forward search from latex (sub) files to the built in pdf viewer, it simply does not work.

I have experimented with simple source files with no \input in them, in that case forward and inverse search work fine.

Any idea how this can be resolved?
