Thank you very much. That was the solution.

Also, before trying this, I added the \usepackage{geometry} and it forced these margin settings to work again (even with having left the settings after \begin{document}. Just thought that was interesting to point out, since doing this the correct way as you pointed out is the appropriate way. Plus, doing it the correct way (as you said) allows me to use one less package.
