Dear Colleagues:
A few days ago I have installed MikTeX 2.9 and the current version of TeXnicCenter. While DVI outputs are OK, I do not obtain PDF outputs. Rather, my system retorts: The command [DocOpen(“%bm.pdf”)][FileOpen(“%bm.pdf”)] failed.
I am using Adobe Reader 10.0. Output profiles and paths in my editor (TeXnicCenter) are OK. Does anybody know whether there are any problems of compatibility between Adobe Reader 10.0 and MikTeX or TeXnicCenter? Or can anybody give me some advice? I would be very grateful.
I should perhaps add that compilation succeeds, PDF files are made, and I can access them by Adobe Reader manually. My only problem is: How can I get PDF outputs automatically?

No PDF Outputs
You mean that no PDF output is created at all? Check the log file and make sure that the output file really doesn't exist. Reduce the problem to a minimal example and attach the corresponding log file to your next posting by uploading it to the forum server.

Re: No PDF Outputs
It seems my complaints have been pretty unclear. PDF files are made, I said. I should have better said: PDF outputs are generated, though, they are not automatically displayed (by "view current file"). This button only invokes the Adobe Reader with a list of all PDF files in the folder, but without displaying the existing PDF of the current, compiled file. Instead, I receive the following message: Cannot execute the command [DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen("%bm.pdf")]. But this is exactly the "viewer" command in the "output profile" of TeXnicCenter. Why is'nt it executed?

Re: No PDF Outputs
Seems to be the well known issue after Ad0be did some changes. It has been discussed here already so the forum search will yield the solution.

Thank you very much for this advice, Thorsten. I'll start searching in the forum.

Addendum:
I replaced Adobe Reader 10 with Adobe Reader 9. The problem that I was encountering disappeared instantaneously. So, my conclusion from my annoying experience is this:
Adobe Reader 10 does not co-operate satisfactorily with MikTeX / TeXnicCenter. Forget it.
My thanks to all of you.

Strangely it works for me flawlessly. Nevertheless, if that solves the problem for you, then please mark the topic (not the last post) accordingly as written in Section 3 of the Board Rules (to be read before posting).ks-zadeh wrote:[…] Adobe Reader 10 does not co-operate satisfactorily with MikTeX / TeXnicCenter.
