skip page numbering

Post by biacdc »

I need the title cover that I created to a document to have no number at all. I managed to make it hide the numbering, but the next page is numbered 2 while it should be number 1. It's something like the title cover of the document should be page "number zero". Does anyone know how I can make the page numbering skip my title page and begin only in the next one?
Thank you very much.

Hi biacdc,

you could use

Code: Select all

\setcounter{page}{0}
on the beginning, on the first page.

Just use the titlepage environment for your cover.

Code: Select all

\documentclass[11pt,a4paper,english]{report}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage{babel}
\usepackage{blindtext}

\begin{document}
  \begin{titlepage}
    \centering
    \Large
    \null
    \vfill
    Content of your Title page
    \vfill
    \null
  \end{titlepage}

  \blinddocument
\end{document}
As always, the blindtext package is only for creating dummy text thus not part of the solution.
