PDFLaTeX Compilation "Placeholder"

Post by mathinst1278 »

When I compile my file in PDFLatex, it seems to randomly select a place in my code and then jump to that place each time I compile. It is very time consuming to have to flip through the code each time I compile. Does anyone know how to set this "placeholder", that is, the place I return to in the code after compiling? Thanks

It would be very helpful to know which operating system, which editor and which viewer you use. So, please enlighten us in this regard.
