When I use Excel2LaTeX to convert a portion of an Excel spreadsheet to TeX code for a table, I sometimes run into a problem that appears related to the number of characters in a cell.
When I have a spreadsheet with cell contents of approximately 10 characters or more, Excel2LaTeX produces LaTeX code for that cell of alternating hash signs and slashes rather than the proper cell contents. Cells with fewer characters are fine.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem other than manually typing the cell contents?
RESPONSE: Thanks, Thorsten. I'll inquire about this issue by focusing on Excel2Latex rather than LaTex.

Re: Tables problem with cell contents using Excel2LaTeX
I'd consider this not a LaTeX problem. Apart from this converted code mostly needs post-processing. So this is not an unusual case.
