Defining New TikZ/pgf Shape Library

Post by craigim »

I would like to start writing a new shape library, similar to the one for laying out circuits (circuitikz), for laying out optical setups (laser table, mirrors, lenses, detectors etc.) I'm not having a lot of luck finding documentation of that part of the TikZ/pgf command set. I just started learning TikZ about a month ago, so I am still a rank amateur, and if I take on this endeavor, I'll need some examples and a command reference.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
