Acrobat Reader 10 Issue

Post by lchristie »

Hi

I am now having the same problem that many others have had, in that when I try to output to PDF, the program doesn't open. I have run the fixes that I have read about (going to Build > Define Output Profiles > Viewer and changing the file location). I even re-ran the Output Wizard, just in case. Thank you to all of you who posted that solution.

Here is what now happens:
- I compile my document, and it creates a file with no errors or warnings that is 18 pages long.
- I hit F5 to view the document and Acrobat Reader opens, but my file does not. Texniccenter sits for 5-8 seconds, and then it gives the (now infamous) message: [DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen("%bm.pdf")]

I know that my file is updating with changes, as I can open the file manually from Reader and see the changes I make.

Does anyone have a (new) solution??
Thank you in advance,

Please, search first, then post (see Board Rules).

As soon as the problem is sorted out, please act exactly according to Section 3 of the Board Rules (can be found on top of each forum in the »Announcements« section).
Apologies. I did not mean to double post. I took down the first post when I realized that I had posted in the wrong area, and then posted in a more appropriate location.

As for searching first, I did. I found HALF of a solution. I need the other half. I made the corrections in the other posts, but am still experiencing a similar issue.

This is why I posted. I normally just read other's posts, and get what I need. But I still need more.

But there is already a complete solution given (at least for Wind0ws XP) [1]. And since the Ad0be Reader is not the best partner when working with LaTeX, it is still recommendable to use another viewer as suggested in that topic.

Thank you. I spent more than an hour and a half and never found that post, so I must have been doing something wrong. I will read it fully and make changes.
