external .bib file on windows

Post by mhle »

I have been trying to find a LaTeX editor to replace TeXlipse. Among the ones I have tried so far, TeXnicCenter is the closest to the ideal editor say for one crucial feature - the ability to load bib databases in an external location.

So I'm now trying Kile for windows, and from what I can tell from the settings, it does do what I want it to in regards to bibtex, however I have problem translating that into practice. The texmf free that contains the bibliographjy files is added as a root in MikTex and the filename database has been updated, but Kile will not recognize it, but everything else - including building the document - works fine. I have even tried adding the path to the TEMINPUTS setting in Kile, but to no avail.

Any help on this will be appreciated!
