Any way to hide panels in Texmaker?

Post by Mander »

I've been using Texmaker on Windows for a while and like it, but the panel on the left side (where the document structure and so on is) kind of annoys me. Most of the functions available there aren't relevant for me, because I'm not using any mathematical symbols, but I don't know of any way to hide them. I'm coming to LaTeX from MS Word 2003 and I am used to navigating around a document with the outline view, and I would really prefer being able to see the whole structure as I am writing.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I don't see any options that would allow you to customize GUI. So you would have to change the program itself but that's probably not what you had in mind. I've also noticed that only the current file is scanned for document structure, even if you mark some file as a master document (no recursive scan as in TeXnicCenter), so you never see the full structure unless you keep everything in one file.
